My work explores the fragile lines between choice and consequence, silence and expression.
Each stroke is a path. Each interruption changes its course.
My current focus is the Azryn Series, a finite body of abstract work unfolding through three stages, from small ink sketches, to larger drawings, and ultimately to oil paintings.
The Azryn Series
01 — A4 Ink Sketches
The beginning: 90 small ink sketches exploring the fundamental language of the series.
02 — A3 Ink Drawings
The development: 90 larger works, now in progress. These drawings expand the visual language established in the first stage and serve as studies for the paintings that will follow.
03 — Oil Paintings
The culmination: up to 90 oil paintings in black, red, and white, translating the language of the drawings into a different medium.
The three stages are conceived as one continuous body of work.
The A4 sketches began the exploration.
The A3 drawings deepen it.
The paintings will bring the cycle to its conclusion.
At the centre of all three is the same question:
Where does a line lead once a choice has been made?
Lines That Begin Again
The first stage of the Azryn Series began with 90 A4 ink sketches.
Lines That Begin Again grew out of that beginning — a book bringing together the ideas, reflections and visual language behind the drawings.
It is a record of the beginning of the journey, not its conclusion.
